"Heavy Glow kick out a down and dirty, hard assed blues rock that listens to the echoes of the generations that have gone before but don’t shy away from throwing some more modern ingredients into their thick gumbo... Album of the year? Maybe, it’s certainly a contender and best of all, it’s a free download!!!"

There are strong elements of stoner rock here but the emphasis on songwriting and vocal lines really sets it apart from your usual giant riff cult.

Heavy Glow are not afraid to make it apparent who their influences are.  But this is not a problem, since their management of these influences is exemplary.  They are equally informed by sixties garage rock and more recent hard rock, and the combination proves to be a winner.

Forget about knowing what year it is, Heavy Glow aren’t even sure what decade it is. With a sound that predates the filth and the fury of the punk revolution by some years, this is a glorious, wonderfully produced, psychedelic blast of blues-rock and it sounds amazing.

Throughout the 5 track extended play (The Filth & The Fury), the bass is sensual, the leads are blistering, and the drums have that tight snap and thundering crash that’s just perfect for this kind of rocking.

Midnight Moan Press Release

With one foot planted firmly in the psychedelic-blues-rock era and one stomping into the future, Heavy Glow presents Midnight Moan, its first full-length album.
The San Diego trio welds rock’s past to its present with blowtorch guitar riffs from Jared Mullins, powerful bass lines by Joe Brooks and inventive beats.
Two years in the making, Midnight Moan traces the evolution of the band’s songwriting into licks and lyrics that leave listeners humming, without losing the group’s trademark hard edge. The album makes room for three long jams and a showcase of guitarist Jared Mullins’ 12-string acoustic artistry.

Midnight Moan adds to the band’s catalog of previous EPs, the self-titled Heavy Glow from 2008 and The Filth and the Fury in 2009.
